Kevin has been teaching and performing for over 25 years and specializes in Drum Set, Concert Percussion and Marching Percussion.
He has helped thousands of drummers expand their playing abilities in a fun and energetic learning environment.
Kevin began playing music in school band classes, starting on trumpet and teaching himself to play the drums. After high school he started performing professionally in bands in the area, teaching drum lessons, teaching high school drumlines and earned his degree in Music Education from Old Dominion University. He was also a member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps Drumline and performed with the Virginia Wind Symphony. For about ten years, Kevin was a high school band director where he had the opportunity to teach many wonderful groups of students. Over the past 25 years Kevin has taught thousands of drum students from age 3 to 73.
Three decades of experience teaching and performing has developed Kevin’s teaching methods to accommodate the needs of students at any age and any level.

Concert Percussion
Kevin has performed and recorded with the Virginia Wind Symphony under the direction of the late Dennis Zeisler. The VWS has had many world class guest conductors, guest soloists and composers that have written works for the group. Kevin also performs with Symphonic Artistry playing percussion and drum set. He also studied percussion from John Brewington and David Walker at ODU while performing in the wind ensemble and percussion ensemble.
Marching Percussion
Kevin was a member of the 1995 Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps Drumline under percussion caption head Mark Thurston. The Drumline placed 7th place at the DCI world championships.
